R.I.P. Guiding Light

Goddammit, those bastards at CBS canceled my beloved Guiding Light and today the final episode is airing. I’ve been watching GL since 1978 and the only reason I’m not TOTALLY FREAKED OUT is because I’m in total denial.

I’m not kidding; it’s not real to me. That’s because I’ve been so goddamn busy lately, I have like 24 episodes backed up on my DVR. But when I go through them… people, there’s going to be a serious crash.

Speaking of crashes, there’d better not be any kind of plane crash, natural disaster, act of terrorism or any. f*cking. thing. that would necessitate any “We interrupt this program…” bullshit. No, the president cannot come on today. I don’t care if the f*cking Dow tanks to 300. If a transmitter goes down, if my power goes out, if any. f*cking. thing. happens other than a beautiful, but sad, final day in Springfield, there’s gonna be freakin’ hell to pay.

Now I’m depressed. Goddammit.

What is this 'Guiding Light' you speak of?

Besides, all the cool kids are in Port Charles, at General Hospital.

/I'm ashamed that I know that...

is that the one with Susan Lucci?
The best way to get over losing a show is to find a new one. Might I recommend Dexter? The boyfriend and I even forsake sex in order to watch back episodes on netflix. I'm addicted. What's that they say? The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else? Same goes for TV. Buck up, Lil' Linda.

So sorry for your loss :( Now you will have to make the switch to the Young and the Restless....equally sad, addictive, mind numbing TV!!

My momma is probably rolling over in her grave. She loved that show!

I know what you mean!!! My daughter is recording it for me. I've been watching it since as far back as I can remember. My Mom watched it so it goes back to my early childhood!!! Generations! My daughter has also watched it all her life. I can't believe it is going off the air!!! Not fair that my grand-daughter won't be able to join the Springfield fan club!

Wow! Can't believe it! I used to watch that show many eons ago while I was working second shift. Or was it Days of Our Lives? (maybe both) I can't remember. Then again, what was I thinking then?

Easy, Linda, easy. All is not lost. I mean, at least it's being replaced by "Let's Make A Deal".

I still have not watched the last two days. I have them on the DVR and can't get myself to watch them. I too am in denial. I just don't want it to end.
