Today is officially "Lurkers Come Out of the Closet Day." Not that you're in that closet! (Not that there's anything wrong with it...)
No, I just decided that today I'd like to ask my beloved lurkers to, um, expose yourselves. I know I have some super dedicated and loyal readers who have never, ever commented and quite frankly, you're making me crazy. I so want to know something about you. Anything!
That means YOU in St. Francisville, Louisiana. (You're my Grand Poo-bah.) Yep, as we drove through Louisiana on my last cross-country road trip I swear I was ready to stand in your town square a la What About Bob? and yell for you to make yourself known. Who the heck are you in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin? Godley, Texas? Beverly Hills, California, and Beverly Hills, Florida? I also have a bunch of readers in exotic places in Canada like Sarnia, Ontario, and Richmond, British Columbia, who evidently prefer to keep to themselves. And don't even get me started on the whole state of Minnesota.
Come on, you guys know everything about me. Can't you share just a little tidbit of info about yourself? If you've never commented before, why not do so today? Pleeeeeeease!

Hi Linda,
I'm one of your lurkers for the past ? yrs (can't remember). I came upon your site through Hurricane Mikey's.I got hooked on a few blogs way back and I love hearing about a chosen few of your lives. I miss Mikey's other blog but I am a faithful lurker so I still read his even though I have no interest in hiking what so ever. Maybe my life is boring and that's why I enjoy reading about others, I don't know. I am a 53 yr old women who is a manager for a warehouse club and I always said "boy I could write a book about this stuff" but I'm not as talented as you. Your book was amazing! Keep writing this stuff. I never get board with your posts.
Diana!
Thanks for commenting and special thanks for your kind words about my book--I'm really proud of that thing! I bet you could write a book, too. As you get into it, you become a better writer, trust me. Don't think you have to be perfect to write your story--nobody starts anything perfectly.
Awesome that you came out of lurkdom!
I'm Kym - living the life in Houston, Texas! Love your blog and your sense of humor! I can relate to you and your life on so many levels! Keep writing and I'll keep reading!
Ray<<<<<>>>>
meant to say not a lurker!
Kym, thanks for checking in! I'll do my best to keep it interesting.
Ray, I've got your number, mister. Literally. XOXO
Linda
I think you might like my ant story I have written the last few days.
operators are standing by in Florida!
xxoo
I guess I was a lurker for ... I dunno, a while. I'm not sure how I first got here. My best guess would be that I wandered in here following up on some interesting comment Linda made on Konrath's blog.
Hi Linda - I am your Richmond, BC lurker (I think). I stumbled upon your blog via Hurricane Mikey's blog just like Diana. Your writing is very entertaining and you tell things as they are, no sugar coating and I like that. You My every other daily dose (or sometimes daily) of Linda Lou also keeps me in touch (sorta) with my favorite place which is Las Vegas.
BC Angel
Sorry Linda, I forgot to tell you about me. I am a 47 year old married female, no kids but 2 step-children (young adults now). Love dogs and travel and work as an administration manager.
BC Angel
BC Angel, you know I love Canadians! I still have to figure out how to get my book on Kindle in Canada. As for telling things as they are, you wouldn't believe the stuff I don't post!
siebendach, I'm glad you made it here one way or another!
That's so funny, BC Angel. I totally imagined you to be a guy.
Well I have been called "Sir" going through McDonalds drive-thru.
Hahaha!!! That's hysterical. Until I got rid of my land line, telemarketers used to ask me if my mother was home.
I'm a faithful unknown reader from Virginia. I can't wait until Christmas when I better be getting a kindle. Yours will be the first book I buy.
Hi, I'm not one of your lurkers. I talk too much to visit anybody's blog and not ever say anything!
I just wanted to say what a great idea! I have a bunch of lurkers who keep coming back but never say a word! I guess it means they like what I write, but just not enough to commit by actually commenting. Frustrating! It's like having a neighbor down the street who will wave as you go by but never say a word.
Someday I may try this myself!
Mel
(aka the other LL)
@ Virginia reader: Thanks for making yourself known! That makes two of us who hope you get a Kindle for Christmas--ha!
@ Mellodee: I just thought of this on a whim, but I'm sure glad I declared "Lurkers Come Out of the Closet Day"! I know what you mean--you think, who the hell are these people who so loyally follow this crap? They're the ones who keep us going, and we don't even know them!
Linda I am one of your lurkers too. I read your blog everyday to see if you have anything new. My name is Cheri I live in Racine Wisconsin. I love reading your blog it is so interesting and sometimes funny. If you go back to the beginning of my blog you will find out more about me or just go under my personal on the side bar.
Cheri, I was just on your blog yesterday. You seem so sweet!
Hi Linda, I assume I'm not a lurker, I do comment sometimes.
Please post some, even just a tiny bit, of the stuff you don't post?
Poo-bah, or Poobah. Not Puba--that sounds like something you need to shave.
Just sayin'...
I came to your blog from Julie's, and I enjoy reading about your adventures and grandchildren.
Opps I forgot to say I'm in Edmonton, AB.
Hello, I am a lurker from Southern Oregon I came across your blog from Hurricane Mikey as well. I love all things Vegas so I really enjoy your storys of living and hiking there. I am a married 37 year old who owns a dive/biker bar. My life is rather boring so I enjoy reading about others.
@ Mimi: My mother reads this blog!!!
@ "Grant": I did a quick Google search and saw it spelled like that, but Merriam Webster (the ultimate resource) says it's "poo-bah," so I stand corrected. And don't tell my mother.
@ my Edmonton reader: Julie's the best and I love Canadians!
@ ahappygirl2000: Hold on, you own a dive/biker bar? My sister and I will have to take another road trip. Are you near Bandon? I was there once for a weekend--what a beautiful place!
We are about an hour and a half from Bandon in a little town north of Roseburg.
I have been reading your blog for a long time - so long that I can't remember how I got here! We are from the same demographic, with the exception of our kids. I waited until I was over 30 to have them; within the coming week I will become a Grandma (ahem...Auntie). I love that your writing so accurately reflects my same views...that and your beer choices :)
I am in a northern suburb of Minneapolis, but dream of being somewhere that is sunny and 70 all year long.
@ happygirl: I bet you'll be seeing me sooner or later!
@ Carol: Congratulations! There is nothing like grandchildren, and I'm happy to hear you have such good taste in beer. All the best to you!
Hi Linda,
Long time lurker from Hurrican Mikey's blog.I also go the the Catskills a lot( Hunter Mtn.) Just saw the news that Leonard Cohen is doing 2 shows in Vegas in December.
Keep your eyes open for tickets.
Alan
This December??? He was here for two shows last December--I'll keep my eyes open, that's for sure. Holy crap, that would be awesome.
Thanks for coming out of lurkville, Alan. Enjoy the Catskills!
I'm still around...Just reading more than commenting these days...
Hey Linda: I'm in Port Orchard, Wash. I think I found yer blog thru DREW'S ODDS AND SODS or Barbara's WRITING FROM THE INSIDE, somewhere like that, can't remember. Always enjoy yer funny writing & yer Attitude. & I love the way you called your lurkers out! Keep it up....
Drew, thank you for being such a loyal reader. I do appreciate!
Tad, thanks for commenting. I like yer attitude, too! Port Orchard... haven't been there yet. Been to Port Angeles, though. Washington reminds me a lot of upstate New York.
I'm late to the party (not my norm). I've commented before (and see people have come to my blog via yours Linda). But, I just wanted to say that I'm happy to see some others from Wisconsin!! I'm in Milwaukee and see that your Fond du Lac person has not come forward yet. Come on out!! :-)
