Have you ever heard Joni Mitchell’s song, “Circle Game”? The chorus goes like this.
“And the seasons, they go ‘round and ‘round.
And the painted ponies go up and down.
We’re captured on the carousel of time.
We can’t return, we can only look behind from where we came.
And go ‘round and ‘round and ‘round in this circle game.”
The passage of time freaks me out, people.

Great pictures. I agree with you, time flies when you're having spawn. I can't believe my baby is 19.
Don't you sometimes miss those days when you were "Mommy", instead of "Mom"? You know what I mean....
Beautiful pictures and beautiful memories.
I know what you mean, Julie. Christopher hasn't called me that in decades, but I still get a phone call almost every day from Courtney greeting me with "Hi, Mommy!"
Beautiful pictures!!!! I'm sure it's so hard (yet fun) watching them grow up. They will always be your babies. I try to remind LW of that daily!
Fortunately, my boy still pats me on the head and calls me his little Stepmonster... I know it isn't ""mommy" but it's what he's done since he was little.
Great pictures. Yeah, this aging thing--it isn't the fact that I am older so much as realizing that there's prob'ly less time ahead than behind. And the probably is way PAST optimistic. There's so much to do and to see, and I see my son, who is balding and 37 and it freaks me out, too.
Feh.
Beautiful babies and how they've grown up into beautiful adults. You've done good, Linda Lou!
Awesome pictures, and oh, so true. How is it possible our babies are all grown up? The second song I ever wrote was called, "Time Glides By." I was 17. I had no idea just how true it was.
Great photos. I have an older brother but we aren't close like that at all.
I am enjoying being called "mommy" right now by my two year old. I hope it stays. I'm not ready to be "mother" for a long time, if ever!!!
Holy smokes...it freaks me out too. But what an incredible sequence of photos of your two incredible kids! I feel like I know Court :) and to know her is to love her.
Oh those are truly gorgeous photos. Beautiful faces and its great they are close. You are right the passage of time is damn frightening, it moves os quickly. Courtney, regardless of her colouring, looks like her Mommy I think. You did good Linda, real good.
